Michael McDermott is a 30-year-old Sports Writer and Reporter. He is currently the lead writer and reporter covering the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball for Burn City Sports. Entering May 2024, he has published over 800 articles on the Diamondbacks and covered 44 MLB games.
Michael has interviewed many players on the Diamondbacks’ current roster, including Kevin Ginkel, Jake McCarthy, Brandon Pfaadt, Slade Cecconi, and Bryce Jarvis.
In addition to on-site coverage, Michael covers the Diamondbacks minor league farm system. Not only does he write daily reports on the organization’s top prospects, but also conducts interviews to share their stories.
Before joining Burn City Sports, Michael wrote for FanNation’s Inside the Diamondbacks on the Sports Illustrated website from 2022 to 2024. He previously wrote on SB Nation Sites AZ Snake Pit and Pats Pulpit from 2015 to 2022.
Michael’s goal is to become an MLB Beat Writer. He also has a podcast, called Snakes on the Diamond.
